{New Art Journal...}

I printed this painting on fabric to use as the cover

The inside front and back covers

include a altered tree photo

and some stamping.

I will add some blank pages with simple stamping on them.

For the back cover I decided to do a simple

heart stitching.  I  like the look of a simple design and

once all of the inside pages are filled the simplicity

of the back cover will be the perfect compliment

Using imagery to explore personal meaning.

Who am I?

This started out from a photo of an old building I photographed in

Jerome AZ.

After a few layers altering it.  It seemed like the perfect background

for something.

So as I added other layers it  began to come together as a personal

story.  I would

even call it a self portrait

Tax Season is over and I have been resting. 

I'd planned to spend more time gardening and more time in

my studio.  But I got sick (on April 14 of all days) and it has taken more then a week

to get back up to speed. 

Between periods of resting I have managed to create a couple of pieces

of art for

the Mother's Day show.

This purse which features one of my drawing printed on fabric.

and another piece of fiber/canvas art featuring one of

my altered photos.

I've enjoyed exploring these little canvas pieces.  And have been

thinking about creating a larger piece.

More on that to come.

My garden is coming to life.

Trees and shrubs are blooming and

flowers are starting to poke their heads up from their winters sleep

I'm planting vegetable seeds

and checking out the local garden shops for the newest plant offerings

I've already bought home several new "friends" to join our garden family

Discovered something new.  Word bubbles

This is just my first attempt at using these word bubbles and thinking about

how I might use them. 

And of course my new Alice in Wonderland Art Journal

seemed to be a perfect fit.

I am already thinking of more words to add

so the finished versions will be different I am sure.

And I will undoubtly use them more than once.

I have been gathering elements for a new Alice Journal and this might just be the perfect time to get started.

I so enjoyed making my first one.  And now it is time to create another with much more muchness.
"I'm late for a very important date"
I haven't even seen the movie yet.  Maybe I'll try and squeeze it in this weekend.

{What will I Do with a Couple of Extra Hours...}

Was it all that hard to decide? LOL

I get going with a new project in mind that requires a different size photo

and can't stop till I get enough to print a full size fabric sheet with assorted photos.

Still trying out different layers for a nest and egg photo.

I wasn't really all that happy with how the nest and eggs photo turned out in a previous post.

And was still wanting something in the blues tone but then I got this so I went with it.

I think I have enough to print for now and will turn some of them into

collaged canvases and have others at the ready for art journals
