{Painting - A Day This Week...}

A Day This Week
Just stopping in to share a painting I did yesterday.
I thought I'd also show some of the progression.
It has lots of layers underneath that can't be seen.  I'm not sure why
one bothers with them.  Maybe it's makes more of a difference than is evident.
 It does add some texture under the paint.  Which is really difficult to see in the photos.
The trunk seemed to give me the biggest problem.
First the brown... well it had to go.
Then it's placement wasn't right either so it had to be corrected.

All in all I am pleased with the final painting.
Well that's it for now.  I figure a short post is better than no post.
Till next time.

{2014 Word of the Year}

Journey
I'm recognizing the journey I but began when I was born.
A journey, I of course have be taking all along.  How could I not have been?

This journey is one back to where I have, in reality, never left.
A journey "back" to my Source.

I miss you all and my blog too.  I just don't seem to have the time to spend creating new posts.
They seem to take me a long time to create.  But I'm still being creative and learning new techniques mostly inspired by artists

 Jeannie has inspired me to paint full figures of people and Kate experimenting with different
art mediums like old linens and plaster.

The painting below is my first.

  Below is one of my first attempts at adding plaster - no face yet.  Not nearly as much plaster as the two above paintings.
In these cases more is much more fun.

Well, I've got a wedding art journal to complete for my son and his wife and I am about to become and grandmother for the first time.  So not sure when I'll be back but know I will be.  Thanks for
your continue interest.

Love Autumn
