{Daisy Field...}

Daisy's, one of my favorite flowers.
and a poem to share
Leisure

What is this life if, full of care,
We have not time to stand and stare,

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare a long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of star, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

{One more altered photo before going outside to play in the garden}

The weather outside is warming up and the sun is shining ~ as it usually does here
in Arizona.  So enough with PSE

{Spring Eggs & PSE...}

Took this photo with my cheap camera phone from a display in a
local store.  Added some texture layers and overlay frames.
This will become my next canvas piece.

{Using PSE Altered Photos...}

It's always fun to come up with new ideas for using my altered photos
...or scary
This is part fiber part papers and paint.
I used one of my altered photos printed on fabric
and glued (thats the scary part) to canvas.
Being mainly a fiber artist I have never been sure
about gluing or using matte medium on top
of fiber work. You lose the tactile feel that fiber art has.
So I started by experimenting with smaller pieces of fabric before
jumping into some larger pieces

I like how it displays on the windowsill
Although it won't work in the summer time.

{My Sister Loves Cows...}

and I found these two cow paintings
she might like when she comes to visit in May.
I just love camera phones and blogs.
It makes it so easy to share things with my sister
long distance
Well what do you think?  Anyone else like cows?

{A slight alteration to the way ahead...}

...continuing with PSE
inspite of my wanting to get in the projects for these photos.
  If I ever stop opening up PSE I might get something else done.
As my inventory of photos grows so too will the art used with them.
I like these square shapes.  They are more likely to be use in my fabric art journals then postcards
and other fabric art.  Which I do need.  I am want to experiment in using these on mounted canvas.
Not sure which color I like best.

{2010 Word...}

Ok, yes I know it's March already and that New Year's resolutions are
started at the beginning of the year.
It's not so much that I am just now getting around to choosing a "resolution"
it's more like I am just getting around to posting it.  And getting something ready to put on the sidebar.
I've never really been into doing "resolutions"  but when I came across
the idea of a word for the year I really liked that.  So I took a moment
to think what might my word be... and  Expect is what first came to mind.
Expect... good things
Expect... to be able
Expect ... abudance
Expect...success
Expect...the life I am meant to live
Expect... things to work out
Expect...anything
eXPECT...????

{New Art Journal...}

Commissioned Art Journal
This time using one of my altered PSE photos
This photos has made it into many posts.
But I thought it would be fun to show what I do with all these
altered photos
Back cover includes one of my new stamps

And the inside front and back covers.
I always like to include at least one pocket and keep
the embellishments to a mimimum.
Leaving lots of space for the recipient to make the journal
their own.

{Addicted to Layers}

Still playing with PSE.
Now that I am gaining some success
there are so many options
These are just a couple of things
I whipped up this morning
And there is still time to go outside and play

{New Spring Supplies and Goodwill Finds}

Went shopping today.  Drove further than I usually do
to check out some new options.
It was well worth the extra 15 miles.
I'm not really fond of traffic.
I love these stamps.
And the paint colors are so lovely.  I am turning back towards using more pastels
and even neutral colors that I have always been attracted to after spending the past several years
using  bolder brighter colors.
I found this bucket at the Goodwill.
I think I can also make a texture out of it for PSE

{Art Journal with No Stitching}

I am more comfortable creating with fabric and thread than
Paper and glue

I never know what kind of "glue" to use.
But it is worth the effort to learn as this
board book came out very nice.

{Do I do messy stitching or neat stitching?}

This is the back of a postcard that I have purposely
stitched in a contrasting color and messy
While I think I like it.  Others, i.e. customers
might not appreciated it.
What do you think?
